Hi, I’m Sadie!
Growing up during the 80’s housing crisis and being raised on food bank handouts, I miraculously won a pair of Bryan Adams concert tickets as a teenager in the 90’s. I sold the tickets and the money was wisely invested. I was an entrepreneur from a young age. This resulted in a snowball effect on my luck and gave me the opportunity to travel the world. I’m a big believer in the butterfly effect. I’ve had some pretty bad strokes of luck in my life, but i’ve also had some strokes of good fortune that got me to where I am today.
I’ve been traveling since 2005. It’s been a mix of full time travel, but mainly full time work. I’ve managed to visit 82 countries in that time, but still have so much more to explore.
I’m not going to tell that I quit a full time job to travel full time, because actually I quit full time travel to work full time. I’m kinda responsible and don’t enjoy living out of a backpack or suitcase. After traveling for a year back in 2005, I saw many people continue their travels (funded by various low paid jobs and working in hostels). I didn’t enjoy the life of a poor backpacker, so I decided to create a life where I can pay for luxury trips by myself. Social media was not around back then.
I’ve been blogging and creating content since 2018. I was late to the party. So far I’ve earned $9 from my blog and 0.25c from Shutterstock. Not enough to quit my job and travel. Good job I’m responsible and can afford my own flights and hotels.
Not all bloggers can share a story of success with making money, I’m just hear to share my story and memories. I’m not an adventure traveler, because I have a rare heart condition called Long QT Syndrome, so I can’t bungy jump or waterski, because it could kill me. I have been able to hike to 5,400 meters 3 times, which is pretty good for somebody that was statistically supposed to die in their 20’s.
Really my success is that I’m still alive, because I refuse to get a pacemaker.
I have been given the gift of not taking this short life for granted, because I’ve almost died so many times. I’ve had near death experiences in Sydney, Mauritius and Bali to name a few. It just hasn’t stopped me, yet Due to this, I live cautiously in the fast lane. I want to experience as much as I can in the time that I have. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Despite pulling the short straw in the heart department, I get bored easily, so I’m constantly looking for something new to try or somewhere to go. I’m always eating, but also always on a diet. Beta Blockers make you gain weight.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you can linger a while longer 🙂
